rhemorhaz @ 5:26pm: I found my old journals, which comes as something of a surprise, seeing as how I wasn't aware I ever had one. One of them is missing every last entry, but I can make out the imprint of "Journal (Jeremy's) DO NOT READ" even after so many years, so I know something was there. As for the other, I think it was an assignment for school, seeing as how one entry is both completely false and almost certainly plagiarized.

Share in my embarrassment!  )

beberouge @ 7:58pm: HAPPY PROJECT FOR AWESOME DAY!!!!!!!!

if you don't know about the Project for Awesome, its an annual event in which youtubers try to take over youtube by filling it with videos promoting different charities. Basically, you make a video promoting your favorite charity, put the Project for Awesome logo up as the last half of your video so you can use it as your thumbnail, and then you rate, favorite and comment on everyone else's Project for Awesome videos so that the Project for Awesome logo will be all over the "Most Viewed", "Most Discussed", "Most Favorited" etc. pages of youtube. What makes the Project for Awesome so awesome is that it raises awareness about all kinds of problems in the world and organizations to keep in mind when you're looking to hand out your charity dollar.

I made a P4A video this year and i'll love you forever if you watch it and rate it and comment on it and subscribe to my channel :)

rhemorhaz @ 11:03am: Too tired to freak out
It's all in the Colonel's hands now. One of my grades was posted earlier, and it turns out I did make the cut. Judging by the fact that I may have a perfect score on my Chinese final, the odds of me having a perfect* semester have gone up considerably. My lowest grade in Political Theory I was an 85, but I didn't get my third paper back, nor am I completely confident that I'll have a 94 or higher on my final, which I think I may need. At least, I'll have a B or a B+, but either of those will actually bring down my GPA, so they're not what I'm aiming for. Still, I busted my ass for his final, treating it as though it were two more papers, rather than just a final exam graded "as rigorously" as the papers. Hopefully that will make the difference.

*I withdrew from my anthropology courses, because one was STUPID HARD (or, real anthropology, with bones and stuff) and the other one was just a joke, so my actual grades will look more like WWAAA, AAAWW, or BAAWW, depending on how you order them.

fearnot @ 2:35pm: the ups and downs of being an Opinionated Doctor Who fan
Qullie & I are basically in a perpetual state of conversation via text message. Mostly we talk about Doctor Who.

[info]fearnot: I just realized the only thing I'm really getting for Christmas is a new episode of Doctor Who. So it better be good.
[info]daftwullie: I think you may have a disappointing xmas... it's RTD's last story.
[info]fearnot: True. You know he'll make it unbearably ridiculous.
[info]daftwullie: RTD's departure is your xmas present
[info]fearnot: Definitely, but I don't trust Moffat yet. And goddamn River Song is in, like, the first ep >:|
[info]daftwullie: True. And unfortunately we know she doesn't die.

I really wanna know why spoiler )
idk if that's actually really all that spoilery... like, is it even possible to have avoided that? Not taking any chances though.

rhemorhaz @ 11:59am: I think I'll have to pass
My college sent me an e-mail asking if I'd like to participate in "Tiger Pride Day, a day when students and administrators go to Annapolis, Maryland and lobby legislators for Towson’s interests," which on the surface sounds interesting, appropriate for my major, and a much better way to ensure that prices don't go up than, say, barricading a school building (I'm looking at you, Berkeley!). There is just one catch, though, namely that Towson went to great lengths and spared no expense to put its marching band in the Macy's parade. I can't find accurate figures anywhere (no surprise), but given that it costs over $100k to put a balloon into the parade, I don't have any reason to doubt the assertion made by a band classmate of mine that the total costs are well into the six figure range, even after Towson cut costs by making band members pay their own way to the event. I know, it's probably a wonderful marketing opportunity, but I would much rather Towson spend its money on things that have a direct impact on the quality of its education, like hiring more professors and breaking up the scheduling bottlenecks that have appeared in several of the degree programs, including my own.
